Watching Firefly, as with all great storytelling, makes me so nostalgic/sad/overjoyed/confused/inspired.

We are supposed to be out of Old Place and living in New Place by the 5th. I estimate we're 29% there.

Work is getting too worky. Wanna seriously start making money doing artistic things. I will have studio space (!!!!!!) in the New Place.

Also, New Place is in the Whiteakre, which is what I've wanted for a while now. Cool cool.

Vegan Minimall. Need I say more? The three places I enjoyed visiting the most were all lined up in a row.

I first read about these guys in VegNews, and had been planning to visit for months. I had a seitan/potato salad sandwich (Yes, the potato salad was on the sandwich.)

Only after purchasing my sandwich did I realize there was a bbq one and I was very upset that I couldn't fit another meal into my gut.

Then I had a strawberry cheese danish with a hempmilk latte. The latte was pretty good, the danish was the best I've ever had.

And it was all vegan. (Pics of my meal and stores to be edited in later)

I must return for the brunch. Every Sunday 9 am - Noon $10 all you can eat, with coffee. I guess the selection changes from week to week. On the 13th it was "Christmas in June"-- Savory Quiche, Pear and Sweet Potato Hash, Kale and Pumpkin Cranberry Trifle.

Fuck yes.

The most amazing selection of vegan groceries/hard-to-find mixes, and ridiculously delicious treats. A good mix of ethnic foods. Awesome. Also a pretty cool book/video section. I bought a documentary on the Animal Liberation Front which I'm excited but also anxious about watching. Also some gravy mixes, energy bars to last me through the PJ Harvey concert. Cashier was super chill.

This place had lots of well-designed, cute, pro-veganism, and pro-animal-rights clothing and books. There was a huge section of cookbooks, many of them independently printed, zine-style. You can't get that shit at Borders. Lots of great accessories: notebooks, planners, belts, unleather purses.

I bought an awesome vegan leather wallet by ESPE for Lindsey. (The "gaze" style in black and red: http://www.espe.ca/wallets.html) The inside has tons of little spaces for all your whatnot and seems very durable.

The man who rang me up was very kind and recommended a good place for me to eat dinner nearby: The Red and Black Cafe. Also on my list of places to visit on return.

I have heard from several (!) people about their famously yummy dragon noodles. Unfortunately I realized I probably had to get headed to my show-ish area or I would be late. D: (Not because a normal person wouldn't be able to get there in time, but because I am a horrible driver and tend to get lost easily)
